Throughout our 65 years of experience, we have managed to expand internationally, earning the trust of various clients in Latin America, Europe, and the Middle East by generating solid commercial relationships with companies such as Grupo Empire Gas: a company with which we have had a relationship of loyalty and trust for over 20 years. The recognition that Empire Gas has acquired from developing outstanding infrastructure has allowed it to position itself as a highly valued enterprise and given it the ability to work on important new projects.
Recently, Arcosa worked in close partnership with Empire Gas on the Mennonite Hospital located in the town of Caguas, Puerto Rico by distributing all the products needed to generate energy with LP gas. This has allowed the hospital to be self-sufficient for all its energy needs, which started operations in September 2020. This project was led by Don Ramón González Cordero, founder of Grupo Empire Gas and its subsidiary LIQUILUX, who gave a substantial investment that will directly benefit the local community.
Thanks to this teamwork made possible by both Arcosa and Empire Gas, the Mennonite hospital complex generated 1,748 kilowatts of electrical energy and this, in turn, enabled the production of 1,300 pounds of water steam used to operate this medical center. In addition, it supplies hot and cold water for the hospital’s various needs.
This project, in collaboration with Arcosa and Empire Gas, marked a before and after for the hospital industry in Puerto Rico by enabling the use of LP gas as a source to generate energy and oxygen. We are very pleased to be able to contribute to and be part of such projects that generate a positive impact, both for the local community and our environment.
It is important to note that this cogeneration system not only uses LP gas for power generation, but also produces oxygen efficiently and safely. The long-term project also includes infrastructure to enable six more hospital facilities to generate their own energy and oxygen.
Arcosa Industries de México has been involved in other outstanding cogeneration projects, for which 18 LPG plant tanks with a capacity of 30,000 gallons have been manufactured.

The LP gas industry continues to support critical infrastructure by continuing to operate and provide this necessary resource; absence of LP gas in homes, hospitals and businesses could create major complications.
The LP gas industry has proven to be essential. In the Americas, for example, distribution plants and distribution units such as bobtails, cylinder trucks and service stations continue to operate through the crisis, while following the protocols recommended by national health institutions.
The LP gas industry continues to operate and provide this resource to families, homes and businesses that require it.
